Dangerously easy and extremely moreish, these no-bake malteser bars have an addictive chewy texture. They’re filled with maltesers, crushed digestives and smooth milk chocolate and topped with a sweet white chocolate layer.
I first tried something similar at the delicious Cloud 9 bakery in Brighton, and then was desperate to replicate them. I’m happy to say these come pretty close.
They only take about 10 minutes to prepare, you just have two challenges afterwards – patiently waiting for them to chill, and then not eating the whole pan.
No Bake Malteser Bars
- 100 g unsalted butter
- 200 g milk chocolate
- 3 tbsp golden syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 250 g digestives crushed
- 250 g maltesers
- 200 g white chocolate
- Melt butter, milk chocolate and sugar in a bowl over a pan of simmering water. Leave to cool
- Stir in vanilla & salt, followed by digestives and 220g maltesers.
- Pour into greased baking tin and chill for at least 3 hours or until set. Once set melt white chocolate and pour an even layer over the top.Â
- Crush remaining maltesers and sprinkle over the top. Chill, then cut into bars as soon as white chocolate is set.
